Lakewood Neighborhood Schools
Students in Lakewood attend schools that are administered by school districts, not by Lakewood. Four different school districts serve the city, based on where residents live: ABC Unified School District; Bellflower Unified School District; Long Beach Unified School District; and Paramount Unified School District. The City of Lakewood does operate an After-School Activity Zone. This program is no cost for Lakewood school-age children, teens and preteens. It runs as a drop-in program and is based at city parks. Activity Zone is open Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the schedule varying at school holiday and vacation times.
