During December, 2016, 292 real estate listings appeared for sale in Huntington Beach, California. Included in those listings were 191 single family homes for sale; 20 townhomes; 59 condos and 15 commercial real estate listings. There were six listings for lots or land available to buy and develop for new construction / custom homes / home builders. The real estate listings span tremendously in home prices, from $200,000 - over $1,000,000, but the median price of homes for homebuyers was $896,500. About 50 of the real estate listings in Huntington Beach were $500,000 or less. Many real estate listings (115) were priced at one million dollars and up.

Naturally the city has lots of events planned around the beach, but the community events go far beyond the sea! The city has been having an annual Fourth of July parade since 1904. In September, residents enjoy attending the SoCal Independent Film Festival. This October marked the inaugural Breitling Huntington Beach Airshow, which spotlighted the Breitling Jet Team and the United States Air Force Thunderbirds. The Cruise of Lights Boat Tour is an annual winter event that occurs in the Huntington Harbour neighborhood. During this event, a parade of colorful lighted boats line the harbor, and boat tours are offered to those who want to see the decorated homes. The Surf City USA marathon takes place each February and attracts more than 20,000 runners. Also in February is the annual Kite Festival, a favorite for many Huntington Beach residents.
Huntington Beach has a large central park, simply called Huntington Central Park. Located between Gothard and Edwards Streets to the east and west, and Slater and Ellis Avenues to the north and south, it is Orange County's largest city-owned park. The park covers almost 350 acres and has native wildlife living within. Also located in the park is Huntington Central Park Equestrian Center. This facility not only boards horses, but also rents horses to the public, offering guided trail rides within the park. Kids enjoy the "mud park" at Central Park, while many others enjoy playing on the disc golf course. Also featured in the park is the Shipley Nature Center, an adults' sports complex, and two small dining areas.
Huntington Beach Neighborhood Schools
Since Huntington Beach is such a large city, it is served by five public school districts: Fountain Valley Elementary School District; Huntington Beach City School District; Ocean School View District; Westminster Elementary School District; and Huntington Beach Union High School District. Within these districts are 20 public elementary schools, seven public middle schools, and five public high schools. Students are placed into districts and schools based on addresses. There are also 17 private schools and two Catholic schools in the area.
