Children of Camarillo residents attend schools in the Pleasant Valley School District through eighth grade. PVSD consists of six elementary schools, two middle schools, a magnet school and STEM specialty schools. The Santa Rosa Technology magnet school receives a perfect 10 of 10 score from the school ranking website GreatSchools.org, as does the public charter school Camarillo Academy of Progressive Education. Several other schools in Camarillo receive excellent scores of eight or nine out of 10, including Adolfo Camarillo High School, which is part of the Oxnard Union High School District. A new high school, Rancho Campana, is under construction as of late 2016.
Private and parochial schools serving Camarillo include Cornerstone Christian and St. Mary Magdalene. A campus of California State University Channel Islands, a four-year public state university, is located in Camarillo.
